House Bill 847 is alive and well. It was passed (with Amendments) by the New Hampshire House of Representatives
by a margin of 236 votes in favor to only 111 against. This is a factor of more than two to one.
Passage by such a large margin was a huge win for this legislation, but it still needs
to be passed by the Senate and signed by Governor Lynch.
It is important for you to contact
your state Senators and the Governor and ask them to support this important legislation.
Note that the Amendments limit the speed limit to Lake Winnipesaukee and to a two year time
period. This is not everything we had all hoped for, but it is a step in the right direction
and an excellent start. It will also give the Marine Patrol and New Hampshire boaters a chance
to get used to the boating speed limits.
CALL YOUR friends and ask them to support speed limits on Lake Winnipesaukee.
